ILFRACOMBE BOAT TRIPS

We had a wonderful opportunity to take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess last week with our local Tourism Association and I shall definitely be recommending it to all you lovely guests.

From the moment you step aboard you get a totally different perspective of the beautiful harbour and gazing up at a very statuesque Verity.      We also felt quite delighted that the first thing you notice as you get out to sea is the prominent terrace of houses of Larkstone Terrace and The Collingdale.

We took the Wildlife trip which takes you along the coast past magnificent cliffs to Lee Bay, Bull Point Lighthouse and then on to Morte Stone where you may see seals basking in the sunshine (unfortunately for us it was a bit chilly and a bit choppy so the seals were just bobbing about with their little heads poking up)  but on a sunny day you can usually see up to a dozen seals basking on the rocks.

We then went down to Morte Point with its dramatic rocks leading right out to sea and glimpsed the stunning beach of Woolacombe in the distance.

Depending on the tides the Ilfracombe Princess either takes this Wildlife trip or goes east towards Combe Martin and Exmoor calling into the pretty harbour at Watermouth.

Ilfracombe Boat Trips

Other boat trips you can take are the Historic Lifeboat trips aboard the Hampshire Rose, The Ilfracombe Sea Safari  which is rather exhilarating (we have done it twice it is brilliant 😊) or a day trip to Lundy Island aboard the MS Oldenburg.  There are also numerous boats offering fishing trips too.  A trip to Ilfracombe would not be the same without some boat trip or other.
