Ilfracombe is situated on the rugged North Devon coast, and has grown up around the picturesque ancient harbour which is lovely to explore with it’s many shops, pubs and restaurants, not to mention the Ilfracombe Aquarium .Ilfracombe is ideally situated for you to explore the spectacular coastline and the delightful moorland reaches of Exmoor with its rolling hills and quaint villages; ideal base for walking the Tarka Trail and Heritage Coastal Path; or take a trip to Lundy Island, a completely unspoilt nature reserve on the supply vessel M.S. Oldenburg.
To the west are the unique villages of Lynton and Lynmouth with it’s cliff top railway, to the east the delights of Clovelly and the market town of Barnstaple with its shops and the famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row is only twelve miles away.
Close by are the Blue Flag beaches of Croyde Bay, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe. Not to mention Ilfracombe’s own Tunnels Beaches.
The many National Trust and stately homes in the area are worth investigating, as are the gardens of Marwood Hill and Rosemoor.

In Ilfracombe itself there is a delightful promenade which houses the Landmark Theatre, a museum, Runnymeade gardens with it’s traditional bandstand and beautiful flower beds, crazy golf, stunning Capstone Hill and The Torrs. Also visit Bicclescombe Park with it’s lovely lake, floral displays, tennis courts and adventure playground. Larkstone Gardens with it’s bowls, croquet, putting green and indoor swimming pool. Take a climb to the top of Hillsborough Nature Reserve for stunning views of the harbour.
